Elevating Mongolian Cuisine to New Heights


Mongolian cuisine may not be as well-known as Chinese or Korean, but we're on a mission to change that. As the owners of a Mongolian restaurant in Canberra, we've had the privilege of introducing guests to the unique and delicious flavours of our homeland. From hosting the Mongolian Ambassador to treating all the embassies to a feast, we've had ample opportunities to showcase what Mongolian cuisine has to offer. But we're not content to stop there. We want to elevate Mongolian cuisine to new heights by creating a

restaurant that blends Mongolian and Australian food cultures. And we're well on our way to achieving that goal.


Our journey started with a simple desire: to introduce people to Mongolian cuisine. We noticed that there weren't many options for Mongolian food in Canberra, and those that did exist didn't offer the best quality or value. We knew we could do better. So we decided to open our own restaurant, one that would showcase the best of Mongolian cuisine while also incorporating elements of Western cooking styles.


One thing we quickly learned is that Mongolian cuisine has a lot to offer. From hearty stews to flavorful meat dishes, there's something for everyone. But we also realized that many people are unfamiliar with the distinct flavours and ingredients that make up Mongolian cuisine. That's why we made it our mission to tell the stories of our menu to everyone, with clear descriptions and explanations of each dish.


Of course, we couldn't just stop at traditional Mongolian dishes. We wanted to create a fusion experience that would truly highlight the best of both worlds. So we started experimenting with different combinations of ingredients and cooking styles. The result was a menu that combined elements of Mongolian and Australian cuisine in unique and delicious ways. Our Oh-Chu wrap with Mongolian bread and served with house-made ranch dressing is a perfect example of how we're blending traditional Mongolian flavours with familiar Australian ones.


But our goal isn't just to create delicious food. We also want to ensure that our dishes are affordable and accessible to everyone. We want to break the trend of undervaluing Mongolian cuisine and show people that it's more than just food, but more of a unique dining experience.


We're proud of what we've accomplished so far, but we know there's still plenty of room for growth. We're constantly experimenting with new dishes and flavour combinations, always looking for ways to elevate Mongolian cuisine to new heights. And the feedback we've received from both Mongolians and foreigners alike tells us that we're on the right track.


At our restaurant, we're more than just chefs. We're ambassadors for Mongolian cuisine, sharing our culture and traditions with anyone who walks through our doors.
